Hello Heather. I absolutely love your podcast and I have been recommending it to all my physician friends! Thank you for doing this!
I am planning to change my endocrinology clinical career to pharma. I have listened to numerous podcasts of yours. I don’t think I heard any discussion about job application: my particular dilema is whether i should apply to company X to multiple jobs at once (I am tailoring my cover letter to each job). Is this not seen well by recruiters? Can you come across like not focused? With my endo specialty I could fit multiple jobs that I would actually like. Do you have any advice, Heather? Thank you again for all you do!
I so appreciate your super supportive comments about the podcast, and am so happy that you are spreading the word. I am truly grateful. To answer your question about whether or not it is OK to apply to different positions at ONE company, what I have heard is that YES, this is usually fine, and if you are a reasonable candidate for the jobs, even recommended. Sometimes companies will even suggest a diferent job if they have multiple listings and you are a better candidate for one of their positions than what you applied for. Their goal is the find the best candidate for the job. You said you were tailoring your cover letter to each job, and I assume your resume as well, that is perfect. Cheering you on! Heather
