Much appreciation for both Heather and Dr. Lacey for this podcast; I was reviewing the entirety of all the podcasts for intensive career/research prep for nonclinical stuff. However, I came across this one, which raises a number of very salient points for physicians. It’s entirely true that, for the majority, doctors come out of med school/residency with no real idea about finances.
I’ve saved this episode to review and also plan to review Dr. Lacey’s website/book, along with putting The Millionaire Next Door on Kindle—some libraries have this readily available. I know I’m still a novice at finances, so a big thanks to you!
P.S. for Heather: thanks for making the podcasts available as transcripts, they are much more accessible to me this way (visual/reading learner)
Emily, you are so thoughtful to share these kind words and your heartfelt appreciation. I’m very happy that you found the podcast with Dr. Brent Lacey helpful as well as the other podcasts and transcripts. My team is invaluable in contributing to all the steps involved in getting our episodes out there for you. Incidentally, my transcriptionist lives in Macedonia, and my podcast editors are in England. I’m most grateful to have wonderful people to make this all work.
You are wise to be learning all you can about finances – money is freedom and you work hard for your money so why not have it work well for you! Thanks for your comments Emily!
