In this one-year anniversary episode, I share the truth behind why starting this podcast was such a struggle for me. My personal story revolves around some issues I’ve had with my voice starting in 5th grade which manifested in different settings, including my job at a veterinary clinic. The issues almost prevented me from doing the podcast altogether. My intention in telling this story is to offer some inspiration to any of you thinking you’re not good enough to do something that truly matters to you.
In this episode we’re talking about:
- What I learned about my voice when our class put on the musical Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat
- How Mr. Davies fought for me in 6th grade
- My trouble working at the veterinary clinic before med school
- The decision to start the podcast
- Working with vocal coaches and the initial rough experience
- Some key take-aways from this experience
